Canindeyú (Spanish pronunciation: [kanindeˈʝu]) is a department in Paraguay. The capital is the city of Salto del Guairá.[1] Canindeyú comes from the Guarani words Kaninde - macaw; ju - yellow, blue-and-yellow macaw (Ara ararauna).
